Curriculum
Welcome to the Schaefer Piano Studio! I follow a balanced curriculum which includes basic skills, repertoire, ensemble and creative work. I teach using a classical emphasis but enjoy exploring other styles. I have a 6'1" Kawai grand piano and in 2021 I purchased a NORD Grand which has excellent piano touch and sounds and also a wide array of synth sounds. I offer:
- weekly private lessons
- periodic playing classes
- participation in studio recitals and special programs
- performance festivals and competitions; recitals (depending on the needs and interests of the student)

- repertoire study: mainly classical but some popular, jazz styles
- music reading skills
- practice techniques
- creative work and beginning improvisation
- ensemble playing
- music history/listening to and learning about classical but also many genres of music
